A skincare routine is part of the daily process of starting the day, and it may be the only time some days that you can take a few minutes to focus on yourself and not others. Depending on what works best for your unique skin, it may involve a simple three-step routine or more, depending on your skin health goals.
Our skin is the largest organ in the body, so it makes sense to take care of it the way you try to exercise and eat right to stay healthy.
This routine focuses on mature skin and what products work best for a mature skin type. Your skin may vary significantly from person to person, depending on your lifestyle, health, and many other factors.
Skin Changes:
Mature skin will generally produce less oil which can be a welcome change for someone with extremely oily skin. Still, if you are already on the dry skin side, you would need to add in certain products to alleviate even more dehydrated skin and combat the effects of moisture loss in the skin.
I like to keep my routine simple in the morning and focus on a few essential products.
My current morning skincare favorites:
1) Glymedplus Gentle Facial Wash: Foaming Cleanser
contains glycolic acid-improves collagen production
What it does:
- brighten the skin & reduces hyperpigmentation
- mildly exfoliate the skin
- smooths texture
2) Glymedplus CBD Facial Mist: Calming & Hydrating
contains niacinamide, CBD, and coffee extract
What it does:
- smooths and firms fine lines
- stimulates collagen
- strengthens skin barrier
- increases hydration
- increase circulation
- reduces inflammation
- balances your skin
The CBD Mist can be used right after on clean skin or to refresh your skin throughout the day. I like to apply my mist directly after cleansing my skin which holds the moisture into my skin.
3) Glymedplus CBD Regenerative Eye Cream
Contains: CBD-a powerful antioxidant, and Bearberry extract
I apply this eye cream above the brow bone and around the orbital bone.
What it does:
- moisturise
- repair
- hydrate
- prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming
- help dark circles
- increase firmness and elasticity
- relieves puffiness around the eyes
4) Antiox-C serum
contains vitamin C, vitamin E, and green tea extract
consistency is lightweight
What it does:
- promote collagen Production
- hydrate skin
- brighten skin tone
5) Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50

As an aesthetician, one of my top questions from clients is what products to use for my skincare routine. I wanted to share my current skincare routine for a mature, dry skin type.
I want to ensure I take advantage of active ingredients in my products. Some that I focus on for the morning skincare routine are Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid.
Depending on the day, the products I listed might be the only thing I use. I call it my good to my skin makeup. I try to take care of my skin even if I don’t have time to do any makeup.
Even when things are crazy, I feel it helps to care for our skin, at least to set the day off right!
