It’s time to say goodbye to summer and hello to sweater weather and fall coffee drinks! Fall is here, and just like we change our wardrobe, adjusting our skincare routine is necessary because of changes in the climate. Colder weather can dehydrate our skin, which may mean adding or changing a few products to your regular skincare routine. A new fall skincare routine is like changing into a new fall wardrobe, but with our fall skincare routine.

Changes in the weather can impact your skin, and just like adding layers to your wardrobe, your skincare routine will most likely need some adjusting to keep it in good condition.

Lip Treatments are an essential part of the fall skincare routine. The lips contain no oil glands and need extra hydration to keep from getting chapped. Using a lip treatment at night will help your lips repair while sleeping.

Fall is the perfect time to add a cream cleanser to your routine. A cream cleanser should add a bit of moisture back into your skin and is an excellent start if you want to tweak a few products in your routine.

Adding a hydrating serum will be vital to keeping your skin hydrated longer. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural humectant that takes moisture from the air and binds it to the skin. Serums are usually applied from the thinnest to the thickest for the best application.

Don’t skip on your Vitamin C serums if you want to keep your skin bright and luminous. Many people are experiencing sun spots from prolonged exposure to the sun, and a vitamin c serum will be vital in helping repair damage and brighten up the skin.

Many people may need a night cream when the weather changes to give dehydrated skin even more hydration. A cream will be extra emollient and give your skin the extra hydration that cold weather robs from your skin.

Adding a hydrating mask and a moisturizing facial spray to your skin care regimen will be a bonus to your routine and help keep your skin hydrated. Facial oil is another good option to use under your lotion or cream to add more hydration.

Fall is the ideal time to work a retinol serum into your night skincare routine. Make sure you use it a few times a week and slowly build up to see a difference over time. Retin A is the gold standard for anti-aging, and your skin will benefit the most from using it consistently.

Eye cream is essential year-round, but this is an excellent time to step up your eye cream to creamier or heavier eye cream.

Additional tips outside of skincare:

Use a house humidifier to add moisture to the air inside your home.

Refrain from taking super long showers with boiling water which will dehydrate your skin.

Now is the perfect time to make these changes to your skin care regimen to avoid dull or dehydrated skin and keep it in excellent condition through the busy holiday season!
