Avene has come out with a compact sunscreen with an SPF of 50. It’s a fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and paraben-free mineral sunscreen for sensitive skin or if you don’t like fragrance in your makeup.
It comes in two shades right now, honey color and Sable beige. I hope they come out with more colors because I think it’s something everyone could throw in their beach bag or wear to work all year round.
The consistency is like a satin-matte finish. It spreads nicely and melts into the skin. Oily skins will love it, too, as it doesn’t make your skin as shiny as some other sunscreens out there. Dry skin will appreciate that it doesn’t seem to settle in any lines when applied, and it is a cream, so that that texture will appeal to your skin in many ways.
It is water-resistant for up to about forty-five minutes. Perfect for the pool, beach, or sports.
The sunscreen works on all skin types and can be applied every morning on the face and neck, then reapplied as needed throughout the day.
The mirror is a nice size for reapplying, and the sponge that comes with it seems to be of good quality. The sponge quality is essential if you plan to wash it regularly, which I recommend with all of these sponges that come in the compacts. I like that a divider is in place between your sponge and the product to minimize and protect against bacteria.
The formula contains antioxidants, and I love when makeup or sunscreen contains ingredients that benefit your skin and protect it.
Avene is for their natural spring water from the south of France known to help cure all kinds of skin conditions. It seems that the pure and therapeutic water helped to revitalize and soothe the skin. They are known to develop products that cater to sensitive skin.
I apply a liquid sunscreen first and then reapply as needed with my compact. I think the liquid sunscreen acts as a base, and it’s nice to have more coverage with the compact to back it up if you need it. You can use the sunscreen compact alone if you want to reduce the number of bottles you bring.
The ingredients are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which offer broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection from the sun. It also contains antioxidants that protect your skin from free radical damage to the skin.
The packaging is perfect for travel and won’t break or spill while running from place to place. The compact is (.035oz) and runs about $36.
I wanted to get this post up because Aveneusa is having a flash sale for up to 30% off if you sign up for emails plus two deluxe samples. Avene skincare is somewhat exclusive and not sold at many typical retailers, so you rarely see a deal like this. I hope you can take advantage, stock up, and use this travel-friendly compact throughout the summer!
